Konica Minolta’s rapidly rising young star, John Lee Augustyn, is now lying second on in the King of the Mountains competition at the Tour of Japan.

After the 145km second stage from the Todaiji Temple to the Nunome Dam , comprising  12 laps around a lake near the holiday center of Nara, John Lee managed to win two King of the Mountain primes from the great Colombian climber, Felix “El Gato” Cardenas and his own team mate , David Plaza(both Barloworld).

The big mountains, now clearly John Lee’s forte, are still to come. And Konica Minolta stars, Frederic Johansson and James Perry, are also still placed perfectly for a move up to the podium positions during the four  remaining stages.
