Pick ‘n Pay Amashovashova – no time to lose

Entries for SA’s fastest growing race, the Pick ‘n Pay Amashovashova, are open on-line today! After last year’s massive entry of more than 12 000 riders, the organisers are watching the rapid growth of the race very carefully, and have decided to impose a limit of 15 000 entries on this year’s race.

The startling emergence of the previously disadvantaged community in SA cycling has been emphasised as never before with the news this week that Sifiso Nhlapo (16), Pick ‘n Pay’s top male BMX rider in 2004, will be off to the famous World Cycling Centre in Switzerland in May for a three month stint before going straight to the world championships in Paris at the end of July.

In Cape Town this week, they’re casting a wary eye up towards the north of South Africa after the organisers of Johannesburg’s Pick ’n Pay 94.7 Cycle Challenge announced that they would be opening online entries on March 9, 2005.
